Designing a Logo for CauzCultur

This article is just about designing the logo and basic design choices for the brand. To read more you can view my case study about CauzCultur:

The owner of CauzCultur asked me to design a logo for the brand in addition to creating the website.

The Prompt:

CauzCultur is a new brand focused on selling fashion items and donating part of the profits to charity. As such, brand presentation is essential.

The company’s mission statement:

To help protect forests, oceans and animals through the use of creative design. CauzCultur is an environmental activism brand that aim is to humanize environmental activism by fostering a mental link between the causes people care about with the regions of the world that will be helped with their purchase.

The adjectives used by CauzCultur to describe their brand were:

colorful, meaningful, inspired, environmentally conscious, fun, light, happy, conscientious, youthful, fresh, and diverse.

Using this information, I iterated and designed several logos and moved forward with the company’s favorite design.

The stakeholder was initially happy with this logo but came back with more feedback to make the logo match their brand’s vision.

They saw the brand as more mature and thoughtful, so I decided to put more emphasis on evoking a feeling of how CauzCultur intends to help people.

In addition, they wanted to keep the “CC” component of the design going forward. As a result, there is a much more subtle nod to the company name in the final product.

The Final Logo

To present the new logo, I made sure to show the size and color options, in addition to a real product.
